Sunday 11th October 2026
Another Sunday, Another Week of Being Nobody’s Emergency Contact (Romantically Speaking).
Perhaps the only day where happily single Luxembourgers question their life choices. Or, celebrate them. Why not both?
Welcome to Single Sundays, the column for the single taxpayers of Luxembourg. This is a place for both comfort and sarcasm, simultaneously, naturally. Because that’s being single in a nutshell, isn’t it? You’re rewarded with peace yet punished with unbearable taxes. Splendid.
While this column has been created by a single Luxembourgish chick, its heart will be kept alive by the People themselves, the single Luxembourgers. Hence, make sure to share your thoughts so that the column can keep growing (and feel less lonely on Sundays).
Single, Fabulous & Wondering What on Earth to Do in Luxembourg on a Sunday?
So, let’s get to the point. What can you do in Luxembourg that won’t cost you your wallet, nerves, or dignity (stay away from that ex you might be missing) ?! Short answer: Do whatever you want to, or do nothing. Or have a look at today’s suggestions.
This is your day.
(Posts published every Sunday at 9AM)
1) Brunch For One (Prosecco for Two)
If you actually get out of bed by noon, head straight to your nearest café or brunch place. TODAY’S SUGGESTION IS:
♡ Café de la Joie in Hesperange. The cosiest little café near Luxembourg City. Friendly staff, charming interior, and plenty of plant based options. Lux, Actually’s favourite spot.
Find them here: https://www.instagram.com/cafe_de_la_joie/?hl=en
2) Cultural Date (Without Ghosting)
…unless you want to be by ancient soldiers. Nah, they’re probably busy guarding the fortress. TODAY’S SUGGESTION:
♡ The Casemates in Lux City. These atmospheric underground tunnels are packed with history, mysterious corners, and enough dark passageways to make you question every shadow…which is better than questioning your past decisions, right?
Stroll solo, soak up the views, and enjoy a little quality time with yourself.
Who needs a situationship when you can have centuries of history? 🏰

3) Take Your Demons On A Walk (Leash Required)
Luxembourg is ridiculously pretty, which is slightly inconvenient when you’re trying not to fall in love with absolutely everything. TODAY’S SUGGESTIONS:
♡ Chemin de la Corniche in Lux City, if you’re already there.
♡ Schiessentümpel Waterfall (W7 Trail) in the Müllerthal region, if you ditched the big city today.
The views are gorgeous, the fresh air is free, and nobody can accuse you of being emotionally unavailable because you went for a walk alone.

4) Grab Some Popcorn – It’s Cinema Time
By late afternoon, you’ve had your coffee, your culture, your exercise and your main-character moment. Time to escape your own beautiful reality for a moment.
Go alone. Go with friends. Go with the confidence of someone who doesn’t need to spend 20 minutes pretending to enjoy a film because their date picked it.
And if you want popcorn for dinner?
No judgement here.
We’re building a life, not a five-course menu.
TODAY’S SUGGESTIONS:
♡ Kinepolis in Kirchberg
♡ Kinepolis in Belval
♡ Ciné Utopia, Luxembourg’s little hidden gem stone in Limpertsberg
Watch whatever you want. ‘But it’s not that simple?!’ Well, a true Luxopolitan would go for:
The Social Reckoning in Kirchberg or Belval.
On sera heureux in Utopia.
Avoid the horror movies for now, your love life has given you enough of that. Unless you enjoy suffering of course, we won’t judge.

5) Back To Bed (Even If You Never Left It)
Best part of being single? No fight over bed space. Get into that starfish position and make sure to get enough beauty sleep; not for your crush or your ex, but for your mirror next morning. Thank us later.
MOTTO OF THE DAY: Sometimes boredom is simply peace. Re-read that. Being bored might simply mean your mind and body is relaxing. Enjoy it.
That’s it for today, dear single taxpayers. Let me know if I have forgotten something and enjoy your well-deserved peace.
Lux, Actually
